Well being from England, and fish and chips being one of our national dishes, we thought that while staying on D'oleron onboard a boat at the local marina we would walk up for a take away meal and sample this French attempt at our classic.
It was fantastic! Cooked fresh to order, good size portions and full of flavour. Staff were friendly and helpful and we would certainly use it as our local fish and chip shop if it wasn't so far away!
We certainly recommend it.
Plus you can sit and wait for your order whilst having a beer as they do that there as well. Now that you wouldn't get in England.- Service

J’ai opté pour un fish and chips, et ce fut une très belle surprise. Le poisson était parfaitement cuit, avec une panure légère et croustillante. La sauce, fraîche et savoureuse, apportait une belle harmonie à l’ensemble, créant un plat cohérent et bien équilibré. Les frites maison étaient également très bonnes dorées et gourmandes peut-être un peu trop grasses toutefois ; un léger égouttage supplémentaire les rendrait parfaites.
Mon conjoint a choisi le burger au saumon. Là encore, la réalisation était soignée : les textures bien maîtrisées et la sauce apportait une touche de fraîcheur agréable. Seul petit bémol, le prix 18 euros un peu élevé à mon goût. Une tarification autour de 15 euros serait plus en adéquation avec la portion et la prestation proposée.
Une belle adresse, donc, qui séduit par la qualité de ses produits et la justesse de ses préparations, avec quelques ajustements possibles pour atteindre l’excellence.Traduction
I opted for fish and chips, and it was a very pleasant surprise. The fish was perfectly cooked, with a light and crispy coating. The sauce, fresh and flavorful, brought a beautiful harmony to the whole dish, creating a cohesive and well-balanced dish. The homemade fries were also very good, golden brown and delicious, perhaps a little too greasy; a light additional draining would have made them perfect. My partner chose the salmon burger. Again, the preparation was meticulous: the textures were well-controlled, and the sauce added a pleasant touch of freshness. The only downside was the price, €18, which was a bit high for my taste. A price around €15 would be more in line with the portion and the service offered. A great place, then, that seduces with the quality of its products and the precision of its preparations, with a few possible adjustments to achieve excellence.

Énorme coup de cœur pour ce petit spot sur le port du Douhet. Des petites cabanes colorées ou vous pouvez déguster de délicieux burgers, fish and chips, poke bowl, gaufres liégeoises....tout est fait maison avec une jolie vue sur le port. L ambiance est conviviale, on adore et on y retourne. Merci pour l accueil et une belle saison à toute l'équipe.

We absolutely fell in love with this little spot on the Port du Douhet. Colorful little huts where you can enjoy delicious burgers, fish and chips, poke bowls, Liège waffles... everything is homemade, with a lovely view of the port. On y mange super. Ils sont tous agréables, serviables, et tant d'autres qualités, ils sont hyper conviviales. Le frites sont faites maison, important de le préciser. On n'y va sans chichis, c'est convivial, jovial......

Très belle expérience ! Sur les conseils d’amis nous avons essayé Chez Bilou! Très bel endroit 😍 +nourriture 🥘 rapide et bonne = un vrai bon moment de détente. On y retournera c’est sûr !

Pour faire passer le tout une bonne limonade de l'île et pour finir une trilogie de boules glacée de chez Ernest. Les cuistots gèrent bien de leur côté. La direction attentive et réactive tout ce que l'on attend en toute simplicité dans ce très bel endroit.

L’endroit est très sympathique, vu sur le port. Un accueil plus qu’agréable, le personnel est souriant c’est vraiment chouette !! On a était rapidement servi (5min) et la nourriture est excellente et copieuse !! Je recommande

Nous étions 10 et pourtant nous n’avons pas attendu pour manger, juste le temps de finir l’apéro et le repas était prêt. Tous les plats étaient vraiment bon, les frites sont très bien cuites, les gaufres sont super bonnes comme les glaces qui sont servies généreusement. Un super moment. Merci à toute l’équipe qui est vraiment au top.

Nous sommes allés manger un soir en semaine, nous avons très bien mangé. Le burger au saumon était délicieux et les enfants étaient ravis avec leurs fish and chips. Il y avait un concert et l'ambiance était très chouette. Nous y sommes retournés pour prendre un repas à emporter et le service a été très rapide.
